Is this worth it compared with a candy advent calendar?

If you want a reusable decoration and a daily ritual rather than sugar, yes. If your child expects candy or a small toy each day, this will disappoint.

What is actually in the box?

The 16-inch tree and 24 magnetic Squishmallows ornaments, one per day. No candy, plush or extra gifts are included.

Is it safe for toddlers?

The ornaments are small and magnetic, so keep it away from children who still put things in their mouths. It suits kids old enough to hang ornaments carefully.

Can I use it again next year?

Yes. The tree and ornaments are reusable, so store the pieces in a bag or box after Christmas.

How big is it and where does it go?

It stands 16 inches tall and is made for tabletop use, so a shelf, side table or mantel works well.

Advent calendars typically drop after Christmas and again in late November as stores clear stock. Buy early in December if you need it for the current season.

Our take on the Kurt S. Adler 16-Inch Squishmallows Advent Calendar

The Kurt S. Adler 16-Inch Squishmallows Advent Calendar is a tabletop Christmas tree that counts down the 24 days to Christmas with one magnetic Squishmallows ornament per day. The ornaments feature animals and fantasy creatures from the Squishmallows line, and the tree is reusable year after year. It is a decorative countdown piece rather than a toy or candy calendar, so the daily payoff is an ornament to hang, not a gift. At 16 inches tall it fits on a table, shelf or mantel without taking over a room.
