Is the La-Z-Boy Jay Power Plus worth it?

If you want three power-reclining seats in one sofa and a metal frame, it is a reasonable pick. Compare its current price with its recent range and with manual-recline sofas before deciding.

How does it compare with the manual Jay sofa?

The main difference is power recline on all seats versus a manual lever. The power version costs more and needs an outlet, but it is easier for people with limited strength.

Does it need to be plugged in?

Yes. The power recline runs on household electricity, so plan the sofa near an outlet. It will not recline during a power outage.

How much space does it need when reclined?

The sofa is 39 inches deep upright, and the footrests extend beyond that when open. Leave clearance behind and in front so the recliners can fully open.

What is in the box and how long does assembly take?

It ships with the frame, cushions and power components, and assembly is listed at under 15 minutes. You attach the pieces and connect the power supply.

When is the best time to buy it?

La-Z-Boy sofas typically see the deepest discounts around major holiday sales and end-of-season events. Track the price history and buy when it dips below its recent average.

Our take on the La-Z-Boy Jay Power Plus Reclining Sofa in Mushroom Brown

The La-Z-Boy Jay Power Plus is a three-seat reclining sofa with power recline and a mushroom brown fabric cover. It measures 86.5 inches wide, 39 inches deep and 43 inches high, with a 23-inch seat depth and a black metal frame. Assembly is listed at under 15 minutes. It is a mainstream La-Z-Boy power sofa, so expect pricing in the brand's usual mid-to-upper range rather than bargain-tier; check the current quote against its own recent history before buying.
