Pros

Open lower shelf keeps magazines, baskets and remotes off the top
Square 34.8-inch top gives generous surface for the footprint
Tapered legs and two-tier look read more expensive than the price
42 lb tabletop capacity handles lamps, trays and decor
One piece, so no matching set to buy

Cons

Manufactured wood, not solid wood; edges and joints are the weak points
Assembly is required and the 52 lb weight makes it a two-person job
