Is the 27-inch Lava Lamp worth it?

If you want a large retro decor piece, yes. It is not a reading lamp, so buy it for the look and the slow wax motion, not for brightness.

How long does it take to warm up?

Expect roughly an hour or more before the wax flows fully. The 100-watt bulb has to heat the globe first.

What bulb does it use?

It takes a 100-watt reflector light bulb. Keep a spare on hand, since the lamp will not flow without it.

Does it come with the base and bulb?

The aluminum base is included. Check the box contents for the bulb, as some Lava lamps ship without one.

Where should I put it?

Place it on a stable floor spot or low table near an outlet, away from kids, pets and anything that can knock the glass over.

Is $128.10 a good price?

It is the lowest of the three stores listing it new as of November 5, 2026, so it is a fair entry point for the 27-inch size.
