Our take on the Lavazza Premium Ground Coffee Classico, 12 oz, Pack of 2

Lavazza Premium Ground Coffee Classico is a medium roast of 100% Arabica beans, ground for drip brewers and moka pots. It is a mild, everyday Italian blend with dried-fruit notes rather than a dark, smoky profile. The two 12 oz bags work out to about $13.50 per bag at the $26.99 Walmart price as of November 4, 2026. That is a normal going rate for Lavazza Classico, not a clearance price.

Best forDrip and pour-over drinkers who want a mild everyday cupMoka pot and espresso-style brewing at homeBuyers who want two bags on hand without a subscriptionPeople who find dark Italian roasts too bitter
Pros
  • Medium roast stays smooth and low in bitterness
  • Dried-fruit sweetness gives it more character than plain supermarket blends
  • Already ground, so it works in standard drip machines and moka pots
  • Two 12 oz bags, roughly 60 to 70 cups per bag
  • Consistent Lavazza blend that is easy to find again
Cons
  • Ground coffee stales faster than whole bean once a bag is opened
  • Not suited to espresso machines that need a fine, fresh grind
  • Mild flavor can taste thin to drinkers used to dark roasts
  • Resealable bag only goes so far; a clip or canister helps

Questions and answers

Is Lavazza Classico a dark roast?
No. Classico is a medium roast, milder and less smoky than Lavazza's dark roasts like Espresso or Gran Espresso. Expect a rounded cup with dried-fruit sweetness.
Is this ground coffee fine enough for espresso?
It is ground for drip and moka brewing, not for pressurized espresso machines. Use it in a drip brewer, pour-over or moka pot; for a pump espresso machine, buy whole bean and grind fine.
How long does a 12 oz bag last?
A 12 oz bag makes roughly 60 to 70 cups at about 2 tablespoons per cup. Two bags cover a daily two-cup drinker for around two months.
Is $26.99 for two bags a good price?
That is about $13.50 per 12 oz bag, a typical shelf price for Lavazza Classico. It is a fair everyday price rather than a deep discount, so buy when you need it rather than stocking up.
How should I store the opened bag?
Keep it sealed in a cool, dark cupboard and use it within a few weeks of opening. Transferring it to an airtight canister slows the loss of aroma.
Where is the Lavazza Premium Ground Coffee Classico, 12 oz, Pack of 2 cheapest?
At Walmart, for $26.99, as of our latest check.
