Questions and answers

Is it worth $24.97?
Yes for a toddler or preschooler. You get 31 durable pieces and five baskets, and the set covers colors, food names and pretend play. At $24.97 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is a reasonable price for a toy that lasts from 18 months to about age 6.
What ages is it for?
Learning Resources rates it for 18 months and up, with a maximum recommended age of 6 years. Toddlers enjoy the textures and pretend play, while 3- to 5-year-olds get the most from sorting by color and naming foods.
What is in the box?
You get 31 pieces: realistic fruits and vegetables in yellow, green, orange, purple and red, five sturdy baskets, and an activity guide. No batteries or assembly are needed.
Is it safe for a child who still mouths toys?
The plastic is BPA-free and soft, but the set is not sold as a teether and some produce pieces are small. Supervise children under 3 and keep the smaller pieces away from younger siblings.
How does it compare with plain play food sets?
Plain play food sets give you more food variety but no sorting structure. This set pairs the food with five color-coded baskets and an activity guide, so it doubles as a color-recognition lesson.
When is it cheapest?
