Our take on the Leather Italia USA Asher Ottoman, Brown Sable

The Leather Italia USA Asher Ottoman is a 30.5-inch-wide upholstered ottoman in brown sable leather, built on a solid wood frame with sinuous wire seat construction. Its seat pairs high-density foam with pocketed coils, which is unusual at this size and gives it more support than a plain foam-topped ottoman. It is soft-rated, so it works better as a footrest or extra seat than as a firm coffee table substitute. Assembly is listed at under 15 minutes, and it is sold through furniture retailers rather than mass-market stores.

Questions and answers

Is the Asher Ottoman firm enough to sit on?
It is rated soft. The pocketed coils add support, but it is cushioned rather than firm, so it suits a footrest or occasional seat better than daily seating.
Does it match the Asher sofa and chair?
Yes. It is part of the same Leather Italia USA Asher collection in brown sable, so it is designed to sit with the matching sofa and chair.
How long does assembly take?
Under 15 minutes. The legs attach to the frame, and no tools beyond what is included are needed.
What are the dimensions?
30.5 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 18 inches high. Check the height against your sofa seat before buying.
Can I use it as a coffee table?
Not reliably. The soft top and leather surface will mark under trays or drinks, so use a firm-top ottoman if you need a table.
When is it cheapest?
Leather Italia USA pieces usually drop during furniture sales around major holidays and at end of season. Compare prices across stores before buying.
