Is the Luxo Jr. set worth it?

At $55.95 for 613 pieces, it works out to about 9 cents per piece, which is reasonable for an 18+ display set. Buy it if you want a Pixar desk piece; skip it if you want a set with play features.

Does the lamp actually light up or move?

No. It is a static LEGO model of Luxo Jr. and the ball. Any lighting or motion would require your own parts or a custom build.

How many pieces and how long does it take to build?

It has 613 pieces. Most adult builders finish a set this size in roughly one to two hours.

What age is this set for?

LEGO recommends it for ages 18 and up. It is designed as a collectible display model rather than a toy for children.

Is it a good gift for a Pixar fan?

Yes, if the person collects LEGO or animation memorabilia. It is a licensed Disney Pixar set in the LEGO Ideas line and displays well on a desk.

When is the best time to buy it?

Only one new price is listed, $55.95 at Walmart as of November 6, 2026. Watch for LEGO and retailer sales around the holidays, when Ideas sets often see discounts.
