Is the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15 good for a student?

Yes for note-taking, essays and web research. It is light at 3.5 lb and has a fingerprint reader. The short battery life means you will want a charger in your bag.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 256GB SSD can usually be swapped for a larger drive. The 8GB of RAM is typically soldered or partly soldered on this model, so plan on 8GB for its life.

Is the 2-hour battery life real?

That is the figure listed for this configuration, and it is unusually low for a 15-inch laptop. Expect to keep it near an outlet, and check owner reports before relying on it unplugged.

Only light ones. The integrated AMD graphics handle older or simple titles at low settings. It is not built for modern 3D games.

What comes in the box?

The laptop and its power adapter. A mouse, sleeve or Microsoft 365 subscription is usually sold separately.

Our take on the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15" Laptop AMD Ryzen 3 8GB RAM

The IdeaPad Slim 3 15 is Lenovo's entry-level 15.6-inch laptop, here with an AMD Ryzen 3, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. It covers the basics for browsing, email, documents and streaming, and adds a fingerprint reader and a 1080p screen that many budget laptops skip. At 3.5 lb it is light for its size. The listed 2-hour battery life is far below what most 15-inch laptops deliver, so treat it as a plugged-in desk machine. No current price was provided, so check the live comparison before buying.
