Our take on the Lenovo ThinkPad T16 16" AI Business Laptop
The ThinkPad T16 is Lenovo's 16-inch business laptop, here built with AMD's Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350, 32GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD. It stands out for the 16-inch 1920x1200 matte screen, a backlit keyboard, a fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 7 and Windows 11 Pro, all at about 3.9 lb. The 60Hz panel and integrated Radeon graphics suit office work, not gaming or color-critical editing. What reviewers say
Owner feedback on recent ThinkPad T-series 16-inch models is generally positive on keyboard feel, build and the matte 16-inch screen. Complaints center on the dim 60Hz display option, fan noise under load and speakers that are merely adequate.
- KeyboardPraisedOwners rate the ThinkPad keyboard among the best for long typing sessions.
- BuildPraisedThe chassis is described as stiff and durable for a laptop this light.
- DisplayMixedThe matte finish is liked, but the 60Hz refresh rate and modest brightness draw complaints.
Questions and answers
- Is the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 fast enough for office work?
- Yes. Eight cores and 32GB of RAM handle spreadsheets, video calls and many browser tabs without strain. It is not a workstation chip for heavy rendering or gaming.
- Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?
- The listing says 32GB installed with 64GB max supported, and storage is a 1TB SSD. Confirm with the seller whether the memory is soldered before counting on an upgrade.
- Is the 60Hz screen good enough?
- For documents, email and web work, yes. The 1920x1200 matte panel is sharp and glare-resistant, but it is not suited to gaming or color-critical editing.
- Does it come with Windows 11 Pro?
- Yes, Windows 11 Pro is listed, along with Wi-Fi 7, a backlit keyboard and a fingerprint reader.
- How does it compare with the Intel T16?
- The AMD version typically runs cooler and offers strong multi-core efficiency, while Intel models can edge ahead in some single-thread tasks. Pick AMD for battery and value, Intel if your software favors it.
- How heavy is it to carry?
- About 3.9 lb, which is light for a 16-inch business laptop. The included charger adds roughly another pound.
