Our take on the Lexibook Electronic Dance Floor Mat Illuminated Keys

The Lexibook Electronic Dance Floor Mat is a plastic play mat, about 86 x 89 cm and 4 cm thick, with illuminated keys that light up as kids step to the music. It is a toy aimed at young children, not a fitness or adult dance game. It is a niche item with limited price tracking, so compare store prices before buying rather than waiting for a big drop.

Questions and answers

Is it worth it for a young child?
For a child around 4 to 8 who likes music and movement, yes. It is a simple toy, so do not expect console-style dance game depth.
How big is the mat?
It measures about 86 x 89 cm and is 4 cm thick, so it needs roughly a square meter of floor space.
Does it need batteries or a plug?
Check the specific listing for the power source, since Lexibook has sold versions of this mat with different setups. Confirm before buying.
What age is it for?
It is designed for young kids, roughly preschool to early primary age. Older children will likely outgrow it fast.
When is it cheapest?
Toy prices tend to dip around Black Friday and pre-holiday sales. With few stores carrying it, compare listings rather than assuming a discount will come.
