Our take on the LG 97-Inch OLED evo G5

The LG 97-Inch OLED evo G5 is LG's largest 2025 OLED TV, a 4K panel using the brighter evo panel with the G5's Alpha 11 processor and webOS. At 97 inches it is meant as a statement screen for a large room, and it carries the premium price that comes with that size. It is sold at Amazon; the listing shows a regular price, so check the current figure before buying.

Questions and answers

Is the LG G5 worth it over the G4?
The G5 adds the 2025 Alpha 11 processor and a brighter evo panel, so it is the better pick if you want the latest processing and peak brightness. The G4 remains a strong, cheaper option if the price gap matters more than the upgrade.
How big a room does a 97-inch TV need?
Plan for a viewing distance of roughly 9 to 13 feet for mixed use, and a wall wide enough for about 85 inches of screen plus bezel. A 97-inch set dominates most ordinary living rooms.
Does it support gaming features like HDMI 2.1 and 120Hz?
Yes. The G5 line includes HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 120Hz support and variable refresh rate, which suits PS5, Xbox Series X and high-end PCs.
Can I wall-mount it, and what mount does it need?
It is designed for wall mounting, but at this size use a heavy-duty mount rated well above the TV's weight and hire a professional installer. LG's own slim wall mount is built for the G series.
What is in the box?
Expect the TV, its stand or wall-mount hardware as sold in the specific bundle, the magic remote and power cable. Check the Amazon listing for the exact bundle, since large OLEDs are sometimes sold without a stand.
When is it cheapest?
Large OLEDs usually see their best prices around Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Super Bowl season. The listing shows a regular price at Amazon, so compare against those sale periods.
