Is the LG PN1 worth $159?

At $159 at Distritech as of November 3 it is expensive for a 3 W speaker with a 5-hour battery. Cheaper small speakers usually match it on sound; buy it for the LG name and compact size, not value.

How loud is a 3 W speaker?

It fills a small room or a tent at close range but will not carry a backyard party. Expect to keep it within a few feet of you.

How long does the battery last and how do you charge it?

LG rates it at up to 5 hours, which is short for outdoor use. It charges over USB-C in about 3 hours.

Can I take it in the shower or to the pool?

It is IPX5, so splashes and spray are fine. Do not submerge it in water.

What comes in the box?

The speaker, a USB Type-C charging cable and a user manual. No wall adapter is included.

Can I pair two PN1 speakers together?

Yes. Wireless Party Link connects two units for louder sound, but each still has only one small driver.

What reviewers say

The rating is high but based on very few owners, so treat it as a weak signal. The pattern for tiny speakers like this is that buyers like the size and water resistance and find the volume and bass limited.
