Is the Libman 879 worth it?

Yes for rough outdoor surfaces like concrete and asphalt. The stiff bristles and moisture-resistant block are built for that job, and $34.98 at Ace Hardware as of November 3 is a fair mid-range price.

How does it compare with a soft indoor broom?

It is much coarser. The stiff PET bristles are meant for grit, gravel and leaves outdoors, not fine dust on smooth indoor floors.

Can I adjust the handle height?

No. The steel handle is fixed at 60 inches, so check that height works for you before buying.

What surfaces is it best for?

Concrete, asphalt, pavers and other rough outdoor surfaces. The polymer block will not absorb moisture, so it can stay outdoors.

The broom with its 24-inch head and 60-inch steel handle. No dustpan or other accessories are included.

Outdoor brooms often dip in spring and around seasonal sales. The current $34.98 at Ace Hardware as of November 3 is near the middle of its recent range, so a large drop is unlikely.

Our take on the Libman Rough Surface Push Broom 879

The Libman Rough Surface Push Broom 879 is a 24-inch heavy-duty push broom built for concrete, asphalt and other rough outdoor surfaces. Its stiff recycled PET bristles and moisture-resistant polymer block suit garage, driveway and job-site cleanup. The 60-inch steel handle is fixed, not adjustable, so the working height is set. At $34.98 at Ace Hardware as of November 3, it sits near the middle of its recent price range, so waiting for a dip is unlikely to save much.
