Is it worth it compared with a plain ornament?

The value is in the personalization: a name and year make it a keepsake rather than a generic bauble. If you want a dated family ornament, it does that job; if you just need filler ornaments, a plain set costs less.

Can I use a last name longer than 12 characters?

No. The family name field allows up to 12 characters, so longer surnames will need an abbreviation or a shorter form.

Can I get the initial in uppercase?

No. The initial prints in all lowercase, so an uppercase monogram is not an option on this ornament.

What comes in the box?

The ceramic ornament and a gold ribbon for hanging. No stand or storage box is listed.

It is 2 3/4 inches across, a standard tree-ornament size that also fits most ornament stands.

When is the cheapest time to buy it?

Personalized ornaments typically see discounts in the run-up to Christmas and in post-holiday clearance. No price data was provided, so compare the live listing before ordering.

Our take on the Lillian Vernon Initial Round Christmas Personalized Ornament

The Lillian Vernon Initial Round Christmas Ornament is a 2 3/4-inch ceramic disc personalized with one lowercase initial, a family name up to 12 characters and a four-digit year. It ships with a gold ribbon for hanging and is designed exclusively for Lillian Vernon by Jillian Yee-Pham. It is a keepsake-style ornament rather than a mass-market bauble, so its appeal rests on the personalization.
