Our take on the Link Retro Mini Gaming Console with 620 Games 8 Bit Game System Built In 2 Controllers AV Output

The Link Retro Mini is a small gray plug-and-play console with 620 built-in 8-bit games and two wired controllers, outputting over composite AV to a TV. It is a novelty gift rather than a serious retro machine, and its 1.6-out-of-5 rating from 23 buyers is a warning sign. At $39.99 at Target as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no cheaper store to compare against.

Only as a cheap novelty. Its 1.6-out-of-5 rating from 23 buyers suggests most people were disappointed. If you want real retro gaming, spend more on a licensed mini console.
Are all 620 games good?
No. The list is padded with many variations and knockoff titles. Expect a handful of recognizable classics and a lot of filler.

It outputs composite AV only, so you need an AV input or an AV-to-HDMI adapter. Picture will look soft and blurry on an HDTV.
What's in the box?
The console, two wired controllers, and an AV cable. Check that your TV or adapter matches the AV output before buying.
Is it cheapest at Target?
Target lists it at $39.99 as of November 4, 2026, and it is the only new price shown. Watch for holiday discounts, since this type of console is often marked down.
