Our take on the Liv Avail AR 1 Road Bike

The Liv Avail AR 1 is a women's endurance road bike built around an aluminum frame with a carbon fork and a 12-speed Shimano drivetrain. It runs hydraulic disc brakes and clearance for wider tires, so it handles rough pavement and light gravel better than a pure race bike. The geometry is shorter-reach and more upright than Liv's race models, aimed at long, comfortable rides. The best new price is $1,299.93 at Valencia Cyclery as of November 5, 2026, with three stores listing it new.

At $1,299.93 at Valencia Cyclery as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair price for a women's aluminum endurance bike with hydraulic discs and 12 speeds. Comparable carbon bikes cost several hundred dollars more.
How does it compare with the Avail AR 2?
The AR 1 steps up to a 12-speed drivetrain and hydraulic brakes, while the AR 2 uses a lower-tier groupset. The AR 1 is the better pick if you ride hills or wet weather often.
What is the gearing and how many speeds?
It has a 12-speed drivetrain, which gives a wide range for climbing and flat riding. Exact chainring and cassette sizes vary by model year, so check the spec sheet for the year you buy.
What tires fit on the Avail AR 1?
The frame and fork clear tires wider than a standard 25mm road tire, so you can fit gravel-capable rubber for rough roads. Confirm the maximum clearance for your model year before buying wider tires.
What comes in the box?
You get the complete bike as built by the shop, typically with pedals not included. Ask the store whether it includes a fitting and first service.
