Questions and answers

Is the LP485HUM worth it at $39.99?
At $39.99 at Lowe's as of November 3, 2026, it is cheap for a 2.45-gallon humidifier with no filters to replace. The trade-off is basic controls: two speeds and no humidistat.
How does it compare with a filter-based humidifier?
It skips filter costs and produces cool mist quietly, but ultrasonic models can spread white dust in hard-water areas. Filter-based evaporative units avoid that but need replacement wicks.
How often do I need to refill it?
The 2.45-gallon tank is large for a tabletop unit, so expect a day or more of runtime on low in a normal bedroom. High speed uses water faster.
What size room does it cover?
LivePure rates it for roughly 100 to 300 sq. ft. That suits a bedroom, office or small living room; larger open spaces will need more than one unit.
Does it work with hard water?
It will run, but minerals can leave white dust on surfaces. Use distilled water or clean the tank and base regularly to limit buildup.
What comes in the box?
The humidifier, its removable 2.45-gallon tank and a 360-degree mist nozzle. No filters are included or needed.
Where is the LivePure LP485HUM Ultrasonic Humidifier cheapest?
At Filter-Monster, for $39.99, as of our latest check.
Where can I buy the LivePure LP485HUM Ultrasonic Humidifier?
8 stores we checked sell it, including Filter-Monster, LivePure, eBay, Home Depot, Lowe's.
