Is the Loheer 1:18 RC car worth it for a 6-year-old?

Yes, if you want a first RC car with real hobby features. The 20 km/h top speed and 2.4 GHz radio are manageable for a 6-year-old, and two batteries are included. It is not a crash-proof toy, so supervise on hard surfaces.

How fast does it actually go?

Loheer rates it at 20 km/h. That is quick for a 1:18 car in a driveway or park but well below hobby-grade 1:18 models that reach 40 km/h or more.

How long does the battery last and how do you charge it?

Each 500 mAh 3.7 V pack gives about 20 minutes of driving. Two are included, so roughly 40 minutes total. Charging is through the included USB cable; a full charge takes a couple of hours.

Can several cars run at the same time?

Yes. The 2.4 GHz radio pairs each car to its own controller, so several Loheer cars can run together without signal clashes. The 50 m range is the practical limit.

The car, a 2.4 GHz controller, two 500 mAh batteries, and a USB charging cable with indicator. No wall adapter or spare parts are listed.

When is the best time to buy it?

RC cars like this usually drop around Black Friday and pre-summer toy sales. Check the price history on this page and buy when the price sits near its recent low.
