Is this ladder safe to use near electrical work?

Yes. The rails are fiberglass, which does not conduct electricity the way aluminum does. Keep in mind the rungs and hardware are aluminum, so avoid direct contact with live conductors.

What is the difference between the 22 ft and 24 ft design height?

The ladder is sold as a 22 ft model but lists a 24 ft design height, which is the working reach when fully extended. Usable standing height is lower because you should not stand on the top rungs.

How much weight does it hold?

The listed capacity is 225 lb, including the person and any tools or materials. That is below the 300 lb Type IA rating of Louisville's heavier-duty models.

How much space does it need when stored?

It closes to about 12 ft long, roughly 17.8 in wide and 3.25 in deep at the rails. Plan for ceiling or wall storage long enough for a 12 ft closed ladder.

Is $324.99 a good price?

The Home Depot listed it at $324.99 as of November 5, 2026, and it is the only new price shown. With no other new sellers to compare, judge it against local fiberglass extension ladder prices.

Our take on the Louisville Ladder 22 ft Fiberglass Extension Ladder

A two-section fiberglass extension ladder with aluminum D-rungs and a QuickLatch rung lock. Fiberglass rails make it safe near live wiring, which is why electricians favor it over aluminum. The ProTop top section adds a work tray, pole grip and corner grip. At $324.99 at The Home Depot as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.
