Our take on the LUTEC Ume 19W LED Motion Sensor Outdoor Flood Light 2 Adjustable Head

The LUTEC Ume is a 19W LED outdoor flood light with two adjustable heads and a built-in motion sensor covering 120 degrees. It puts out light comparable to a 120W halogen while drawing a fraction of the power, and the dual heads let you aim light at a driveway, side yard and back door from one fixture. It is a hardwired security light, so it needs an existing outdoor junction box and mains wiring. The 4 out of 5 rating from 14 ratings suggests solid but not exceptional owner satisfaction.

Pros
  • Two adjustable heads cover more area than a single-head flood
  • 19W LED gives roughly 120W-equivalent brightness at low running cost
  • 120-degree motion detection suits driveways and walkways
  • LED means no bulb changes for years
  • Motion sensor turns light on only when needed
Cons
  • Hardwired install; not a plug-in or battery unit
  • Motion sensor range and sensitivity are fixed, not app-controlled
  • No smart-home or Wi-Fi features
  • Only 14 ratings, so long-term reliability is not well established

Questions and answers

Is the LUTEC Ume bright enough to replace a 120W halogen flood?
Yes. It is rated as a 120W-equivalent LED, so it gives similar light output at about 19W. Expect a cooler white light than an old halogen.
Does it need a neutral wire or special wiring?
It is a hardwired fixture that connects to standard outdoor mains wiring at a junction box. If you are replacing an existing flood light, the wiring is usually already in place.
Can I control it from my phone?
No. The Ume has no Wi-Fi, app or smart-home control. The motion sensor and light are controlled by the fixture itself and its wall switch.
How far does the motion sensor reach?
The sensor covers 120 degrees of detection. LUTEC does not publish a long range figure here, so check the box or manual for the exact distance before buying.
What is in the box?
The fixture with its two LED heads and mounting hardware. Bulbs are not needed because the LEDs are built in.
When is it cheapest?
Outdoor lighting tends to drop around spring and early summer and during Black Friday sales. Check the price history on this page before buying.
What do buyers say about the LUTEC Ume 19W LED Motion Sensor Outdoor Flood Light 2 Adjustable Head?
Rated 4 out of 5 from 14 ratings.
