Our take on the Macy's Diamond Heart Halo Engagement Ring in 14k White, Yellow or Rose Gold

This is a 14-karat gold engagement ring from Macy's with a heart-shaped halo setting around a round center diamond. The center stone is about 0.10 carat, and the total diamond weight across the ring is about 0.25 carat. It comes in white, yellow or rose gold. It is a small, sentimental ring rather than a statement piece, and the price reflects that.

Best forShoppers who want a heart-motif ring for a proposal or promise ringBuyers on a modest budget who still want real 14k gold and diamondsSomeone who prefers a delicate, low-carat look over a large solitaireGift-givers shopping for a romantic occasion
Pros
  • Real 14k gold in three color options
  • Heart halo gives more visual sparkle than the 0.10 ct center alone
  • Total 0.25 ct of diamonds across the ring
  • Romantic heart shape suits proposals and anniversaries
  • Macy's is a known retailer with a return window and resizing options
Cons
  • 0.10 ct center stone is very small; it will look modest on the hand
  • Heart shape is polarizing and less classic than a round solitaire
  • Halo settings can lose small stones over time
  • Ring size listed as 'os' — confirm the actual size before ordering
  • Diamond quality grades (color, clarity) are not specified

Questions and answers

Is a 0.10 ct diamond too small for an engagement ring?
It is on the small side. The halo around it adds apparent size, so the ring reads larger than a bare 0.10 ct stone. If you want a center stone that stands out on its own, look at 0.5 ct and up.
How does this compare to a plain solitaire?
A solitaire puts all the budget into one stone. This ring spreads 0.25 ct across the center and halo, so it sparkles more at a low price but each stone is tiny. Solitaires are also easier to keep clean and repair.
Which gold color should I pick?
White gold looks most like a traditional diamond ring and hides wear well. Yellow gold is warmer and more classic. Rose gold is the most distinctive and flatters most skin tones.
Can it be resized?
A jeweler can usually resize a 14k gold band, but halos and small stones limit how many sizes it can move. Ask Macy's or a local jeweler before buying if you are unsure of the size.
What comes in the box?
Expect the ring and a Macy's jewelry box. A diamond certificate is not typically included at this price point, so ask if you need documentation.
When is it cheapest?
Macy's discounts fine jewelry heavily around Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Black Friday and its friends-and-family sales. Waiting for one of those events usually beats the regular price.
