Our take on the Macy's Radley 86" Fabric Queen Sleeper Sofa Bed

The Radley is an 86-inch fabric queen sleeper sofa from Macy's, built on a pine and hardwood frame with track arms and welted 100% polyester upholstery. The queen memory foam mattress folds out for overnight guests, and the seat and back cushions are removable. At $1,479 at Macy's as of October 30, it sits at the only price recorded in its recent range, so there is no discount history to compare against yet. It is a large piece: 86 inches wide, 39 inches deep and 30 inches high, with a 74-inch seat between the arms.

Questions and answers

Is the Radley sleeper sofa worth it?
It is a reasonable buy if you need a queen bed for occasional guests and have 86 inches of wall space. At $1,479 at Macy's as of October 30, you are paying for the frame and the pull-out mechanism more than for a premium mattress.
How comfortable is the memory foam mattress?
It is a fold-out queen memory foam mattress, fine for a few nights but firmer and thinner than a standalone bed. Guests who need real support may want a mattress topper.
Will it fit through my door?
It measures 86 inches wide, 39 inches deep and 30 inches high, so check doorways and hallways before ordering. Measure the delivery path, not just the room.
What is the weight capacity?
The sleeper is rated to 400 lbs. That rating covers the pull-out bed, so treat it as the limit for sleeping, not for several people sitting at once.
Are the cushions removable?
Yes, the seat and back cushions come off, which makes vacuuming and rotating them easier. The covers are polyester, so spot clean rather than machine wash unless the care label says otherwise.
When is it cheapest?
Only one price has been recorded so far: $1,479 at Macy's as of October 30. Watch for Macy's furniture sales and clearance events, which are the usual times sleeper sofas drop.
