How does the push-back recline work?

You lean back against the backrest and the chair reclines; there is no lever or handle. It needs a few inches of clear space behind it to work.

Will it fit in a small apartment?

Is the cover leather or fabric?

It is gray fabric, not leather. Fabric is softer but harder to wipe clean than leather.

Our take on the Madison Park Julian Push Back Recliner

The Madison Park Julian is a push-back recliner upholstered in gray, with a wood frame and a 300 lb weight capacity. It measures 31.5 in wide, 34.6 in deep and 38.2 in high, so it fits where a full-size lever recliner would not. It reclines by leaning back rather than pulling a handle, which keeps the sides clean. The best new price is $499.20 at Madison Park as of November 6, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no cheaper new option to compare against.
