Is $199 a good price for this kit?

It is the lowest price seen since tracking began on November 4, 2026, and matches the low end of the $199.00 to $327.24 range. The Home Depot lists it at $199.00 as of November 4, 2026.

Do both tools use the same battery?

Yes. The blower and trimmer both run on Makita's 18V LXT battery, and the kit includes one 4.0Ah pack plus a charger.

How long does the blower run on a 4.0Ah battery?

Expect roughly 15 to 25 minutes at full speed and longer with the cruise control set lower. A second battery is worth adding for larger yards.

What comes in the box?

The XBU03Z blower, the XRU23Z string trimmer, one 18V LXT 4.0Ah battery, a charger and a contractor bag.

Is this kit good for a first-time buyer?

Yes, if you have a small-to-mid yard and want two tools on one battery system. It is less suited to heavy brush or all-day commercial work.

How does it compare with a gas blower?

It is quieter and needs no fuel or oil mixing, but a gas blower will outrun it on runtime and raw air volume for very large properties.
