What does the PDC01 adapter do?

It lets two 18V LXT batteries power Makita 2x18V (36V) tools and equipment. It is an adapter, not a charger or a battery.

Does it come with batteries?

No. The adapter is sold on its own and needs two 18V LXT batteries you already own.

Can I use it with any Makita 18V battery?

It is built for the Makita 18V LXT platform. Check that your packs are LXT before buying.

Is it worth it over buying a 36V battery?

If you already own several 18V LXT packs, the adapter can be cheaper than a dedicated 36V battery and gives longer runtime from two packs.

Where is the Makita 18V LXT Adapter PDC01 cheapest?

At The Home Depot, for $111.61, as of our latest check.

Our take on the Makita 18V LXT Adapter PDC01

The Makita PDC01 is a battery adapter that lets two 18V LXT batteries run 36V (2x18V) tools and equipment, drawing from both packs at once. It is an accessory for people already invested in Makita's LXT line rather than a charger or a battery on its own. The best new price is $111.61 at The Home Depot as of November 7, 2026, the only new price listed.
