Is the Mantis TitanX 702 worth $199?

If you already own a Glock 45 and want realistic dry-fire reps, $199 buys a weighted, red-dot-ready trainer with two magazines and a case. Cheaper laser cartridges cost less but do not match the grip or weight.

How does it compare with the Mantis X system?

The X system is a sensor that mounts on your own pistol and scores movement. The TitanX 702 is a full training pistol that emulates a Glock 45, so it works without a real firearm but cannot be used with one.

Can I mount a red dot on it?

Yes. The slide has an RMR, Shield RMS and RMSc footprint, so most common micro red dots bolt on directly.

How is it charged and how long does the battery last?

It charges over USB-C. Mantis does not publish a runtime figure for the 702, so plan on topping it up between sessions.

What comes in the box?

The TitanX 702 pistol, two weighted magazines and a custom EVA carry case.

When is the best time to buy?

Only one store lists it new at $199 as of November 4, 2026, so there is no price history to time. Watch for holiday sales at that store.

Our take on the Mantis TitanX 702

The Mantis TitanX 702 is a dry-fire laser training pistol built to mimic a Glock 45. It fires a 650 nm red laser pulse for 60 ms each time the trigger breaks, so a shot-timer or laser target app can score your draws and trigger pulls without live ammo. It weighs 18.4 oz with a magazine, close to a loaded compact pistol, and comes with two weighted magazines and a custom EVA case. The best new price is $199 at Protection Design Concepts as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no recent price range to compare against.
