Our take on the Marshalltown Rubi Tile Leveling Kit

The Marshalltown Rubi Tile Leveling Kit is a manual system for keeping large-format tiles flush while thin-set cures. It pairs a metal fastening/tightening gun with 100 spacers, so you can set clips and wedge them tight without a separate tool purchase. The kit weighs about 3.1 lbs and comes in a compact 9.9 x 8.1 x 7.4 in. box. At $18.93 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of what the three stores listing it new charge.

Questions and answers

Is the Marshalltown Rubi kit worth it for a bathroom floor?
For a typical bathroom floor it is a reasonable buy: the gun plus 100 spacers covers a small job, and the kit costs less than many clip-only systems. Buy extra spacers if your tile layout is tight or you are covering more than about 100 sq ft.
How many spacers do I need per tile?
Plan on roughly four spacers per tile at interior corners, more along long edges. A 100-spacer kit handles a small room; larger floors need refills.
Does it work with large-format tile?
Yes. The system is aimed at large-format tile, where lippage between edges is the main problem. It holds adjacent tiles level while the thin-set sets.
What is in the box?
The kit includes the metal fastening/tightening gun and 100 spacers. Clips and extra spacers are not included beyond that count.
When is the price lowest?
The $18.93 eBay price as of November 4, 2026 is already near the bottom of the three new listings. Watch for eBay coupons or seller promotions rather than expecting big store markdowns.
Where is the Marshalltown Rubi Tile Leveling Kit cheapest?
At marshalltown.com, for $50.00, as of our latest check.
