Is the MD Mattress 8" Plush Hybrid Twin worth it?

At $176.42 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a cheap way to fill a guest or kids' room. It is not built for long-term daily use by a heavy adult.

Is it good for side sleepers?

The plush tight top cushions shoulders and hips, which suits lighter side sleepers. Heavier side sleepers may sink through an 8-inch hybrid and feel the coils.

Does it work on a bunk bed?

Yes. At 8 inches tall it stays under most bunk guardrails and fits shallow frames. Check your bunk's maximum mattress height before buying.

Does it need a box spring?

No. It works on a slatted frame, platform base or adjustable base. On a traditional frame, use a slatted foundation rather than a solid board so the coils can breathe.

How long does it take to expand out of the box?

Expect most of the expansion within a few hours and full loft within 24 to 48 hours. Cool rooms and the plush foam layer can slow it down.

Our take on the MD Mattress 8" Plush Hybrid Twin Mattress in a Box

The MD Mattress 8" Plush Hybrid Twin is a low-profile innerspring-and-foam mattress sold compressed in a box. It is aimed at budget shoppers, guest rooms, kids' rooms and bunk setups where a thinner mattress fits better. The plush tight-top surface is soft, and the coil core adds bounce and airflow that all-foam beds at this price often lack. The best new price is $176.42 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with only one store listing it new, so there is little price history to compare against.
