Our take on the Mecale 6-Person Family Cabin Camping Tent with Top Rainfly

The Mecale 6-Person Family Cabin Tent is a blue, cabin-style tent with a top rainfly and a carry bag, sized for family car camping. Cabin walls give near-vertical sides, so six sleepers get more usable floor and headroom than a dome of the same footprint. It is a budget-tier tent: the only new price found is $119.98 at Macy's as of November 5, 2026, with no other store to compare against. At that price it undercuts most name-brand six-person cabins, which typically run $200 and up.

Questions and answers

Is the Mecale 6-person cabin tent worth $119.98?: At $119.98 at Macy's as of November 5, 2026, it is cheap for a six-person cabin tent. Expect basic materials and fair-weather performance rather than four-season durability.
How does a cabin tent differ from a dome tent?: Cabin walls are nearly vertical, so headroom and floor space are larger for the same footprint. The trade-off is more surface area for wind and rain to push against.
Does the top rainfly keep rain out?: A top rainfly covers the roof, which is where leaks usually start. The walls are still a single layer, so in heavy or wind-driven rain, seam sealing and a ground tarp help.
How many people fit comfortably?: Six people fit only with sleeping bags and little gear. For air mattresses or extra duffels, plan on four adults or a family of five.
What comes in the box?: The tent, its poles, the top rainfly and a carry bag. Stakes are usually included; a footprint and gear loft typically are not.
When is it cheapest?: Only one store, Macy's, lists it new, so there is no cross-store price war. Watch for seasonal tent sales in late summer and after Labor Day.
Where is the Mecale 6-Person Family Cabin Camping Tent with Top Rainfly cheapest?: At Macy's, for $119.98, 60% off, as of our latest check.
