Our take on the Mechen M30 Portable Digital Audio Player with 64GB Memory Card

The Mechen M30 is a small portable digital audio player with a 2-inch screen, a microSD slot and a 64GB card included. It is aimed at people who want a simple offline music player with physical controls rather than a phone or streaming app. At 5.4 oz it is light enough to clip in a pocket, and the gold finish sets it apart from the usual black players. It is a budget player, so expect basic screen quality and no streaming services.

Questions and answers

Is the Mechen M30 worth it?
It suits shoppers who want a cheap, simple player for local files and do not need streaming. If you want Bluetooth, album art or a polished interface, a used major-brand player is a safer buy.
Does it come with a memory card?
Yes. This version ships with a 64GB microSD card, and the card slot lets you swap in a larger one later.
Can it play FLAC and other lossless files?
It handles common formats including MP3 and FLAC, which covers most local libraries. Check the listing's format list before buying if you rely on unusual codecs.
Does it have Bluetooth?
Bluetooth support is limited or absent on this model, so plan on wired headphones. That is the main reason to look at a different player.
How big is it and how much does it weigh?
It has a 2-inch screen and weighs 5.4 oz, so it fits in a pocket and is light enough for a run.
When is the price lowest?
Budget players like this tend to dip during major sales events and back-to-school periods. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.
