Is the Megachef 12-quart worth it?

If you regularly cook for a crowd and want preset programs, the 12-quart size is the draw. At $129.99 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026, it is priced like a large electric cooker, but check that the wattage and temperature spec fit pressure cooking before you buy.

How does it compare with an Instant Pot?

Instant Pot models in this size class typically run 1000 W or more and ship with a locking pressure lid and steam rack. The Megachef lists a glass lid and a 175°F max temperature, so confirm it reaches full pressure before relying on it for pressure recipes.

Can I put the pot in the dishwasher?

No. The cooking pot and trivet are listed as not dishwasher-safe, so wash them by hand. The non-stick coating also argues for hand washing.

What comes in the box?

The cooker, a non-stick inner pot, a trivet and a tempered glass lid. A replacement sealing ring and inner bowl are sold separately as supported accessories.

The best new price seen is $129.99 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026, across 10 stores. Large kitchen appliances usually dip during Black Friday and holiday sales, so watch the price history around late November.
