Our take on the Melrose 4" 5" Wax Dripping Pillar Set

The Melrose Wax Dripping Pillar Set is a three-piece set of LED pillar candles in yellow and white paraffin wax, sized 4 to 5 inches tall and wide. The wax-drip finish mimics melted candle edges while the built-in lighting gives a flame-like glow without an open flame. At $74.99 at Michaels as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent price range across the three stores that carry it new.

Best forShoppers who want candlelight without an open flameTable centerpieces and mantel stylingHouseholds with kids or petsRenters who want a warm glow without wiring
Pros
  • Three candles in one set, so a grouping is ready out of the box
  • Wax-drip finish reads as melted candle wax, not plain plastic
  • Battery LED lighting means no flame, soot or wax cleanup
  • Yellow and white mix suits neutral and warm-toned decor
  • Short 4 to 5 inch pillars fit trays, lanterns and low centerpieces
Cons
  • $74.99 is a high price for three small LED pillars
  • Paraffin wax body still needs dusting and careful storage
  • No remote, timer or dimming listed
  • Battery type and runtime are not stated
  • Wax-drip look is fixed, so it can't be restyled

What batteries do they take?
