The Mercury Row Hegg is an upholstered platform bed with a button-tufted headboard and a wooden slat base that supports a mattress without a box spring. It holds up to 800 lb and leaves about 8 inches of clearance under the frame for storage. It is a mid-priced Wayfair-house-brand bed, and its price has stayed fairly steady rather than swinging with sales.

With 4.6 out of 5 from about 9,300 ratings, owners mostly report a solid, good-looking bed for the money. Complaints cluster around assembly effort and slat durability after a year or two.
