Death Magnetic is Metallica's 2008 return to thrash, pressed here as a 2LP on the Magnetic Silver colored vinyl edition from Mercury Import. It is the album that followed St. Anger and brought back long, riff-heavy songs and Kirk Hammett solos. At $15.47 at Amazon as of November 8, 2026, it sits at the low end of what this pressing has sold for.

Owners treat Death Magnetic as a strong late-career Metallica record and a good-value double LP. The most common complaint is the loud, compressed master, which some say sounds worse on vinyl than the songs deserve.
