Our take on the Mewaii Weighted Sloth

The Mewaii Weighted Sloth is a 58 cm (about 23 inch) plush sloth filled with PE beads and weighing 1.8 kg (4 lb). It is a cotton-blend, machine-sewable comfort object aimed at older kids and adults rather than toddlers, and it needs no batteries. The listing mentions a 30-second heating time, suggesting a heatable insert, though the fill is listed as PE beads. It is a niche comfort plush, not a mainstream toy, so its price tends to sit in the mid range for weighted plush and rarely sees deep discounts.

Best forAdults and teens who want a weighted lap or chest plushKids 6 and up who like sloths and deep-pressure comfortGift buyers looking for a calm-down or bedtime companion
People who prefer a washable cotton cover over synthetic plush
Pros
  • 1.8 kg (4 lb) gives real deep-pressure weight, not a token beanbag
  • Large 58 cm body works as a lap or chest rest
  • Cotton outer is softer and more breathable than polyester plush
  • No batteries, so nothing to charge or replace
  • Simple care: spot clean or gentle wash, beads stay contained
Cons
  • PE bead fill makes it heavy and lumpy if it shifts
  • Not for children under 6; beads are a choking risk if seams fail
  • Heatable claim is vague and the fill is not microwave-safe on its own
  • No removable cover, so full washing is awkward
  • Gray sloth design is plain compared with character plush

  • Stitching holds up for most buyers with normal use

Questions and answers

Is the Mewaii Weighted Sloth worth it?
It is worth it if you want a large, genuinely heavy comfort plush for an older child or adult. If you need a washable cover or a precise heatable product, look elsewhere.
How heavy is it compared with other weighted plush?
At 1.8 kg (4 lb) it is on the heavier end for a 58 cm plush. Most weighted stuffed animals in this size run 1 to 1.5 kg.
Can you heat it in the microwave?
The listing mentions a 30-second heating time, but the fill is PE beads, which are not microwave-safe on their own. Only heat it if the product includes a separate heatable insert and follow its instructions.
Is it safe for a 4-year-old?
No. Mewaii rates it for ages 6 and up because of the bead fill and weight. For younger children, choose a lighter plush without beads.
How do you clean it?
There is no removable cover, so spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. A gentle cold wash in a pillowcase is possible, but air dry fully to protect the beads.
When is it cheapest?
Weighted plush like this tends to drop during holiday sales and back-to-school promotions. Watch for price cuts in November and January rather than expecting steady discounts.
