Our take on the Michael Kors Biarritz MK1160 Sunglasses

The Michael Kors Biarritz MK1160 is a women's oversized aviator with a metal full-rim frame, silver mirror polyamide lenses and 100% UV protection. The lenses are Category 3 with a gradient tint, so they suit bright days but not night driving. At $87.72 at Designer Optics as of November 5, 2026, it sits well below the typical designer-aviator price of $120 to $180.

Pros
  • Oversized pilot shape flatters many face shapes
  • 100% UV protection
  • Category 3 lenses handle strong sun
  • Silver mirror finish stands out from plain aviators
  • Lightweight metal full-rim frame
Cons
  • Not polarized, so glare off water and roads is not cut
  • Category 3 tint is too dark for overcast days or night driving
  • Mirror coating shows smudges and scratches easily
  • No listed frame width, so fit is hard to judge online

Questions and answers

Is the Michael Kors Biarritz MK1160 polarized?
No. The lenses are polyamide with a silver mirror coating and Category 3 tint, but they are not polarized. That means they darken light but do not remove glare from water or the road.
What face shapes does this aviator suit?
The oversized pilot shape is listed for square, heart, oval and round faces. The wide 59mm lens and 14mm bridge give a large fit, so narrow faces may find it loose.
Is $87.72 a good price for these sunglasses?
Yes. Designer aviators usually sell for $120 to $180, and $87.72 at Designer Optics as of November 5, 2026 is a clear discount. Five stores list it new, so compare before buying.
Are these sunglasses good for driving?
For bright daytime driving, yes. The Category 3 tint cuts strong sun, but the lenses are not polarized and are too dark for dusk or night driving.
What comes in the box?
Michael Kors sunglasses typically ship with a hard case and a cleaning cloth. Check the listing for the exact contents, since some sellers ship frame only.
How do these compare with the non-mirror Biarritz?
The frame and fit are the same. The difference is the silver mirror lens, which reflects more light and shows smudges more than a plain tint.
Where is the Michael Kors Biarritz MK1160 Sunglasses cheapest?
At Designer Optics, for $87.72, 37% under what the other stores charge, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Michael Kors Biarritz MK1160 Sunglasses?
Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 7 ratings.
Where can I buy the Michael Kors Biarritz MK1160 Sunglasses?
12 stores we checked sell it, including Designer Optics, ShopSimon, Macy's, Nordstrom, Belk.
