Is this coat warm enough for real winter?

Yes. It is a heavyweight down puffer with a hood, so it handles freezing commutes and cold city travel. It is more coat than you need for mild spring days.

How small does it pack?

It packs into its own compact pouch, small enough to tuck into a carry-on or backpack. Expect some wrinkling that shakes out after a few hours.

How does the sizing run?

Shoppers often report it runs large, so consider sizing down if you want a closer fit. It comes in regular, petite, plus, big and tall.

Can I machine wash it?

Use a front-loading machine on a gentle cycle with down-specific detergent, then tumble low with dryer balls. Avoid regular detergent and fabric softener, which strip the down's loft.

Is it worth the price compared with cheaper puffers?

You pay partly for the Michael Kors label. Cheaper down puffers are warmer per dollar, but few match the packability and size range here.

The coat and its packable pouch. Nothing else is included.

Our take on the Michael Kors Packable Down Puffer Coat

This is a hooded, heavyweight down puffer from Michael Kors that packs down into its own bag for travel. It has a zip front, nylon and polyester shell, and comes in regular, petite, plus, big and tall sizes. It is built for cold winter days rather than mild spring ones. The 4.1 rating from about 1,100 shoppers puts it in solid but not top-tier territory.
