Is this worth buying over a cheaper creatine?

Yes if you want Creapure and a single-ingredient powder. Generic creatine monohydrate costs less per gram, but this one is third-party tested and widely reviewed, which matters if you care about purity.

How does it compare with creatine gummies or capsules?

Powder is the cheapest per gram and easiest to dose at 5 g. Gummies and capsules cost more and often carry fewer grams per serving, but they are more convenient on the go.

How much should I take and when?

One rounded teaspoon, about 5 g, once a day. Timing matters less than consistency; take it with water or a shake at any time of day.

Does it need to be cycled or loaded?

No cycling is needed. Loading with 20 g a day for a week saturates muscles faster, but 5 g daily reaches the same level in about 3 to 4 weeks.

600 g of micronized creatine monohydrate, nothing else. That is 114 servings at 5 g each. A scoop is not guaranteed, so use a measuring teaspoon.

Creatine prices are fairly stable, but tubs often drop during supplement sales and around New Year and summer fitness promotions. Buying the 600 g size lowers the cost per serving versus smaller tubs.

Our take on the Micronized Creatine Powder

Optimum Nutrition Micronized Creatine is a plain creatine monohydrate powder, 5 g per rounded teaspoon, 114 servings per 600 g tub. It is unflavored with no other ingredients and uses Creapure creatine, made in the USA. Micronized particles dissolve more easily than standard creatine, so it mixes in water or a protein shake with a spoon. It is the most-reviewed budget option in its class, and its price per serving is typically among the lowest of any Creapure product.
