Is 8 quarts too big for two people?

It is workable but oversized. You can cook smaller batches, though the pot needs a minimum liquid volume to build pressure, so very small meals are awkward. A 6-quart model is a better fit for couples.

How does it compare with an Instant Pot?

Both are multi-function electric pressure cookers. Midea offers more capacity for the price, while Instant Pot has a much larger recipe library, accessory ecosystem and community support.

Is the inner pot dishwasher safe?

The stainless steel inner pot is generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing keeps it in better shape. The lid and sealing ring should be washed by hand and the ring aired out to avoid odors.

What comes in the box?

Expect the cooker base, a locking lid, the stainless steel inner pot and a steam rack or trivet. Check the listing for a measuring cup, spoon or recipe booklet, since bundles vary.

Electric pressure cookers usually drop during Black Friday, Prime Day and back-to-school sales. Watch the price history on this page and buy when it sits near the low end of its recent range.

Our take on the Midea 9-in-1 Fast Electric Pressure Cooker

The Midea 9-in-1 is a large electric pressure cooker with a stainless steel inner pot and a black exterior. It combines pressure cooking, slow cooking, steaming, sauteing and other functions in one countertop appliance, aimed at families who want one pot for weeknight meals. The 8-quart capacity is bigger than most 6-quart models, so it suits batch cooking and larger households. No current store price was given for this page, so compare live listings before buying.
