Is this freezer frost-free?

Yes. Midea lists automatic defrost, so you should not need to chip ice by hand. Expect periodic defrost cycles rather than a manual scrape.

How much food does it hold?

The listed capacity is 50 gallons, roughly 6.7 cubic feet. That is a mid-size upright, enough for a family's bulk meat and frozen goods but not a full chest-freezer stockpile.

Can it go in a garage?

The specs give a 0°F to 110°F operating range, which suggests it can handle a garage that gets hot or cold. Check the manual for the exact ambient rating before relying on it.

What are the dimensions and weight?

Weight is listed at 195.2 lb. Measure your doorway and floor space before delivery, since a single-door upright this heavy is hard to move without help.

Does it come with an ice maker?

No ice maker is listed. It is a plain freezer with four wire shelves and electronic controls.

Our take on the Midea Upright Freezer

The Midea WHS-625FWESS1 is a single-door upright freezer with frost-free automatic defrost, four wire shelves and electronic controls. It holds a 50-gallon (about 6.7 cu ft) capacity, runs on standard 120 V power and has a 65-inch cord. The stainless steel finish and 195 lb weight suit a garage or utility room more than a kitchen corner. It is a straightforward residential freezer rather than a convertible fridge-freezer.
