Is the Midwest U050N a male inlet or a receptacle?

It is a power inlet, so the prongs face outward and a cord connector plugs into it. It is not a standard outlet for plugging appliances in.

What connector fits this inlet?

You need a 50A, 120/240V cord connector that matches the inlet's blade configuration. Check the NEMA pattern on the unit before ordering a cord.

Can it be mounted outdoors?

Yes. The steel enclosure is weatherproof and rainproof and is made for surface mounting on an exterior wall.

Is $69.95 a good price?

That is the best new price across the five stores listing it as of November 7, 2026. Compare it with the other listings, since inlets like this often sell for more.

Does it come with a cord or plug?

No. The inlet is the box and connector only, so you supply the matching 50A cord separately.
