Is the Miko Essence A-100 worth it?

For a desk, bedside table or small office, yes: it is quiet, certified and has a real H13 HEPA filter. For a full bedroom or living room, its 50 CFM CADR is too low to clean the air quickly.

What room size can it actually handle?

Plan for one small room, roughly a bedroom or office. The 400 to 1000 square foot coverage claim does not match a 50 CFM CADR, which is closer to a single small space.

Up to 46 dB on the highest speed and about 26 dB in sleep mode, which is close to a quiet whisper. Most people will notice it only on the top setting.

What filter does it use, and how often do I change it?

It uses a three-stage filter with pre-filter, active carbon and H13 True HEPA. Replace it roughly every 3 to 6 months depending on use, or sooner in smoky or dusty rooms.

Is it safe around children?

Yes. It has a child lock and is FCC, CARB and ETL certified, and at 2.2 lb it is light enough to keep out of reach on a shelf.

Our take on the Miko Essence A-100 Mini Air Purifier

The Miko Essence A-100 is a 2.2 lb desktop air purifier with a three-stage filter: pre-filter, active carbon and H13 True HEPA. It has three fan speeds, a sleep mode rated at 26 dB, a timer and a child lock, and it is certified by FCC, CARB and ETL. Its CADR is only 50 CFM, so treat the 400 to 1000 square foot coverage claim as optimistic; it suits a desk, bedroom or small office.
