Does it need a box spring?

No. The wood frame and slats are designed to hold a mattress directly, so a box spring is not required.

Is it really a waterbed?

The listing lists a waterbed type alongside platform, which is unusual for a slatted wood frame. Confirm with the seller before buying if you plan to use a water mattress.

What mattress size fits?

It takes a standard queen mattress, typically 60 by 80 inches.

How much storage do the drawers give?

It has built-in drawers under the frame. Measure your room and check the drawer depth in the full specs, since clearance matters on carpet.

Is the frame solid wood?

It is listed as a wood frame with slats. Ask the seller which woods are used if that matters to you.
