Our take on the Milwaukee 1/2" Drive Ratchet & Socket Set with PACKOUT Organizer

This is a 1/2-inch drive ratchet and socket set in chrome vanadium steel, packed in a PACKOUT organizer case rated IP65 against dust and water. The ratchet has a slim profile for tight spaces, and the whole kit weighs 16.7 lb, so it is built for shop and garage work rather than a pocket tool bag. The best new price is $309.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is this set worth $309.99?
At $309.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, you are paying for Milwaukee build quality and the IP65 PACKOUT case. If you already run PACKOUT, the case adds real value; if not, a plain socket set costs less.
How does it compare with a 3/8-inch set?
1/2-inch drive takes more torque and fits larger fasteners, but the sockets and ratchet are bulkier. A 3/8-inch set is lighter and better for general engine work.
What is in the box?
The set includes the 1/2-inch ratchet, the sockets, and the PACKOUT organizer case. Socket count and sizes are not listed here, so check the listing before buying.
Is the case really waterproof?
The PACKOUT organizer is IP65 rated, which means it is sealed against dust and water jets. It is not meant to be submerged.
When is it cheapest?
Only two stores list it new, so there is little price competition. Watch for Milwaukee promotions and holiday sales rather than expecting a big drop.
