Our take on the MILWAUKEE M12 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC5.0 Battery Pack Kit (Model 48-59-2450P)

This is a two-battery starter kit for Milwaukee's M12 line: two 12V 5.0 Ah High Output lithium-ion packs plus a charger. High Output cells are Milwaukee's step up from standard M12 packs, built to deliver more power and about 25% more runtime to tools that draw hard. Each pack weighs 0.95 lbs and charges in about 70 minutes. At $150.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with 6 stores listing it new.

Pros
  • Two 5.0 Ah packs in one kit
  • High Output cells give more power and about 25% more runtime than standard M12 packs
  • Charger included, so it works as a starter kit
  • About 70-minute charge time
  • Fits all 125+ M12 tools
  • Overload protection and a durable housing
Cons
  • 12V only; not usable on M18 tools
  • 5.0 Ah packs are heavier and bulkier than compact 2.0 Ah M12 packs
  • Two identical packs may be more than some users need
  • Charger is M12-only, not a dual-voltage M12/M18 unit
