Is the M18 Fuel combo worth it over the cheaper M18 brushed kit?

For regular or professional use, yes. The Fuel brushless motors give more torque, longer runtime and better durability than the brushed M18 tools. For occasional light jobs around the house, the brushed kit is enough.

Can the drill handle concrete?

Yes, in hammer mode it is built for drilling into brick, block and concrete with masonry bits. For large holes or reinforced concrete, a dedicated rotary hammer is the better tool.

What comes in the box?

The drill/driver, the impact driver, two 18V lithium-ion batteries, a charger, a side handle and a carrying case.

Are the batteries compatible with other Milwaukee tools?

Yes. The M18 batteries work across Milwaukee's M18 line, so they can power other M18 bare tools you own or add later.

How does it compare with the M18 Fuel Surge impact driver?

The standard Fuel impact driver in this kit is louder and more powerful. The Surge uses hydraulic drive for quieter, smoother fastening but less peak torque, so it suits indoor finish work more than heavy framing.

When is the best time to buy?

Combo kits tend to drop around major holiday sales and when Milwaukee runs battery promotions. Check the price history before buying to see whether the current price is near its low.

Our take on the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit

This is Milwaukee's two-tool M18 Fuel kit: a brushless hammer drill/driver and a brushless impact driver, both running on 18V lithium-ion batteries. The drill handles masonry and heavy drilling, while the impact driver tops out at 3,900 RPM for fastening. The kit ships with two batteries, a charger, a side handle and a carrying case. It sits at the top of Milwaukee's cordless line, so expect pro-grade power and a pro-grade price rather than a budget entry point.
