Is the Milwaukee 2918-22HD worth it over a corded SDS Max hammer?

If you work where power is unavailable or dragging a cord is unsafe, yes. For steady bench work in one spot, a corded hammer costs less and runs all day.

What comes in the 2918-22HD kit?

The hammer, two M18 High Demand 9.0Ah batteries, a charger and a carrying case. Bits are sold separately.

Does it take standard SDS Max bits?

Yes. The 1-3/4 inch SDS Max chuck accepts standard SDS Max drill and chisel bits.

How does it compare with the M18 FUEL 1-9/16 inch SDS Max?

The 2918-22HD is the larger 1-3/4 inch model, with more capacity for big anchors and core bits but more weight. The smaller model suits lighter drilling.

When is the price lowest?

Kit prices tend to dip during Milwaukee promotions and holiday sales. At $1,000.00 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, compare both new listings before buying.

Our take on the Milwaukee M18 FUEL SDS Max Rotary Hammer 2918-22HD Kit

The Milwaukee 2918-22HD is an 18V cordless SDS Max rotary hammer built for heavy concrete drilling and chipping where a cord would be a hassle. It uses a brushless FUEL motor, a 1-3/4 inch SDS Max chuck and tops out at 340 rpm, so it trades some speed for torque. The kit ships with two High Demand 9.0Ah batteries and a charger. Its best new price is $1,000.00 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, with only two stores listing it new.

340 rpm is slow for high-volume drilling

Batteries add weight and need charging on long jobs
