Is the 2.0 Ah pack worth it over a 5.0 Ah?

Only if you want the lightest possible setup or a cheap spare. A 5.0 Ah pack costs more but roughly doubles runtime and is the better primary battery for saws and grinders.

Will it fit all M18 tools?

Yes. It works in every Milwaukee M18 cordless tool and charger. It will not fit M12 tools, which use a different battery line.

How long does it run?

Roughly 30 to 60 minutes in high-draw tools like circular saws, and several hours in lights or low-draw tools. Runtime depends heavily on the tool and task.

Does it come with a charger?

No. This is a single battery only. You need an M18 charger, which is included in most M18 kits.

Is it compatible with older M18 batteries and chargers?

Yes. M18 batteries and chargers are cross-compatible across generations, so it works with older M18 chargers and tools.

Two-packs and kit bundles usually bring the cost per amp-hour down. Watch for holiday sales and combo deals rather than buying a single pack at list price.

Our take on the Milwaukee M18 REDLITHIUM 2.0 Compact Battery Pack 48-11-1820

The Milwaukee 48-11-1820 is a single 18V M18 REDLITHIUM 2.0 Ah compact battery, the smallest pack in Milwaukee's M18 line. It weighs about 1.1 lb, so it keeps drills and impact drivers light and fits tight spaces. Expect roughly 30 to 60 minutes of runtime in high-draw tools and much longer in lights and low-draw tools. It is a spare or compact-use pack, not a primary battery for heavy cutting or grinding.
