Our take on the Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE Impact Duty 49-66-6804 Socket Set

The Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE 49-66-6804 is a forged impact-steel socket set in a PACKOUT organizer case, built for high-torque work with impact wrenches and drivers. It uses a 6-point design meant to grip fasteners and resist rounding, and it meets ASME standards. The set weighs about 4.5 kg and measures roughly 15.2 by 4.6 by 9.8 inches, so it is a shop or truck box set rather than a pocket kit. It is aimed at professional and heavy DIY use.

Questions and answers

Is this set worth it over a cheaper impact socket set?
If you use an impact wrench regularly, the forged steel and 6-point design are the reason to pay more. Occasional light use is fine with a budget set.
Does it work with any impact wrench?
Yes. The sockets are standard drive sizes for impact wrenches and drivers. Check the drive size of your tool before buying.
What is included in the box?
The sockets come in a PACKOUT organizer case. The listing does not spell out the exact socket count and sizes, so confirm those before ordering.
Is the PACKOUT case worth it?
If you already use PACKOUT, the case stacks and locks with your other boxes. If not, it is just a sturdy case that adds some bulk.
When is it cheapest?
Watch for Milwaukee promotions around major holidays and tool events. Prices vary by store, so compare before buying.
